Neil's sister Corinne came to visit us last weekend, we had a great time! One thing we did was drive out to the Golden Spike National Historic Site. This is where the railroad from the east and west finally met on May 10th 1869, it was a big deal because it really opened up new trade routes and connected the continent. It is somewhere I have always wanted to go, so I was pretty excited.

They run these trains and do a reenactment of the whole driving of the golden spike etc.

I really wanted these little people to come to life like on night at the museum.

All aboard!

The visitors center

The cute reenactors:)

It was pretty much just wide open space out there. Driving there we kept laughing because every time we came over a hill we expected to see something, but there was nothing until we got way way out there.

On the way home we stopped in Corinne Utah, woo hoo!

We looked around at the Brigham City Tabernacle

Remnants of the last primary party?

Also we wanted to go up the canyon and roast hot dogs and marshmallows. It was pouring rain so we pulled out the George Foreman.

Corinne wanted to try to roast a marshmallow...not so much.

Neil suggested we try the toaster, it worked perfectly! Yum:)

Ode to Sunfire

"There was a fierce war raging abroad, and other in her heart"
"Texas pride was in her blood, burning love was in her heart"
"Her love was as wild and untameable as the frontier itself"
"In the frozen loneliness of Alaska a burning love is born"
"Her disguise would keep her safe, but not from love"
"She lived in a time when loving the wrong man could mean exile from her home"

Okay, okay, enough. If you recognize those lines then you were a Sunfire girl of the 90's. Awesome.

When Corinne was visiting us this weekend we went out to promontory point to see the joining of the rails. It was great. I love historical sites. Corinne said "wasn't there a sunfire romance book about the railroads?" Why yes, yes there was Corinne. It is "Julie" Then we talked about our favorites. How could you not love these books? Good clean fun:) Now I want to hear from you. Did you have a favorite, do you still own any of the books? Discuss.

New Hobby

So I recently learned how to crochet around flannel for baby blankets. It is kind of a fun new hobby and if you are having a baby soon, I will probably make you a blanket:) I think this will be my next flannel purchase. Hee hee.

Quite the week!

We have had quite the busy week! On Sunday night my mom came up, yay! But I had to work all week, boo:( We still had a great time:)

I wanted to fold her towel into an animal like on a cruise ship, but I don't know how. We did leave her a pillow mint.

We ate a lovely meal together on Monday

We went for walks. Um can I just say how hugely pregnant I look in this picture? Wow.

We ate out way too much, yum:)

On Wed. night the Wildes passed through Brigham City on their way home from Portland. We all met at Maddox for dinner. Best steak I have ever had.

I LOVE this baby!! He is so tiny and cute:)

Evie was enjoying the butter, she said it was ice cream, mmm.

She sure loves Uncle Neil. He took good care of her all night:)

Cute girl:)

We tried all night to get tiny Randy to smile for us. He finally did, we all reacted appropriately ;)

It has been a great week so far and there is more fun to come!

Andrea and I like to wear matching clothes, so when she bought this dress, I had to have one too! She sent it up with my mom:) Thanks! I love it! This is me 30 weeks, ahhh!

Sisters, sisters, there were never such devoted sisters. Never had to have a chaperone, no sir, I'm here to keep my eye on her..sharing, caring every little thing that we are wearing.....
Many men have tried to split us up, but no one can....

Lord help the mister, who comes between me and my sister....

and Lord help the sister, who comes between me and my man!

I love you Muffin!

Tagged By Kim

What is your current obsession?
Pop Tarts and Milk before I go to bed

What do you hate the most that everybody else seems to love?
Weeeelll, hate is a strong word, but I am not really a fan of anything twilight. I read the first few books but just could not love them. However, I LOVED The Host, by the same author.

What are you wearing today?
Jeans because it's FINALLY Friday, a red non maternity t-shirt (it is longer then some of the lame maternity t-shirts I paid a lot for). Tan jacket because it's cold here in the basement. My favorite comfy Eddie Bauer flip flops.

What's for dinner?
Cafe Rio. Have I mentioned that I love Fridays?

What would you eat for your last meal?
My moms cheese soup, fresh french bread and green salad.

What's the last thing you bought?
Prenatal vitamins at Walmart. My feet were killing me so I made Neil push me around in a wheelchair, he is so nice:)

What are you listening to right now?
People in my office talking.

What do you think of the person that tagged you?
She is wonderful, I wish I could see her more! When my family moved to St. George my senior year she made sure I got involved and bribed a guy to take me to homecoming ;) jk

If you could have a house, fully paid for, and totally furnished anywhere in the world, where would it be?

St. George, in Bloomington Hills so our kids could ride their bikes to both of their grandparents houses.

What is one of your hobbies?
Watching as much TV as I possibly can, and taking lots of naps. And lately I have been crocheting around baby blankets.

What are 3 things that annoy you most?
Spitting toothpaste in the sink and not washing it down.
People who talk really really loud.
People who don't follow traffic laws (happens here all of the time...and I am not talking about running red lights, I am talking about not following the rules at a two way stop, stupid pedestrians etc)

What is your favorite color?

What is your favorite piece of clothing in your wardrobe?
I don't really have favorite things, but there is a pair of jeans that I LOVE and can't wait to hopefully wear again one day.

What is your dream job?
Tour guide at the American History Smithsonian.

Describe your personal style.
Mostly casual, but I tend to like classic looks. I own a lot of jackets because I am always cold.

What are you going to do after this?
Go home and eat Cafe Rio, yay for Fridays. Also, my mom always mails us her full cafe rio stamp cards (bless her heart) so we get a lot of free meals. It is so satisfying to hear them all chime "Free Meal" when you go through the line:)

What inspires you?
90 Mile Beach

Who was the last person you kissed?

What are you currently reading?
I just finished "Mistress Pat" by L.M. Montgomery. I love her books!

What delighted you most today?
Well, I will tell you what did NOT delight me the most- when I opened up my can of Diet Coke and it sprayed all over the place. Luckily not on my computer!

By what criteria do you judge a person?
If they are kind to other people. If not, that is a total deal breaker.

If you could pick a talent, what would it be?
singing, so I could be on American Idol

Here is my invented question-feel free to use it.

Best Vacation Ever?

Hawaii May 2008 10 days of honeymooning with my wonderful husband. We had such a great time and talk about the awesome things we did all of the time:) We will always look back with fond memories. Thanks Honey

County Fair and Rodeo

On Friday night we went to the county fair and rodeo, yay! I love events like this. I think the first time I ever went to a fair or rodeo was after my mission. I am a city girl. Neil and I dressed up in our awesome demo derby outfits and headed over. Here is a picture of us by the farm implements. I am grateful to the lady who walked by for taking our picture, but seriously, it is blurry, how hard is it to get people to take a decent picture of you!?

Creeepy Tim checking me out all night... Neils boss saw us at the rodeo and almost fell off the bleachers he was laughing so hard that Neil was wearing this shirt, haha:)

It's all about the food. I love fair fare!

Mmm Navajo Taco (this one is for you Sus! It was good too!)

We shared the taco so we would still have room for more (greatly detailed planning was involved here). We had to have a posse burger, cooked up by the sheriffs dept. yum:)

And my favorite cotton candy! Sadly I totally forgot to try the deep fried Twinkies and Oreos, I didn't realize until the next day, sad!

I totally wanted to win this gun

We looked at all of the animals.

Moooooo, behold my future!

The chicken house was my favorite, I have never seen so many different kinds of beautiful chickens~

This one laid an egg, cool. That is all I have to say. Again, I am such a city girl.

Neil called this one the "hairdresser chicken" we took this picture for Rachel:) heehee

I love cows, they remind me of all the good times we had visiting GG every summer.

Playing poker while a bull charged them, the last man standing won.

The rodeo was great but we did not stay until the end because it was freezing cold! We should have brought jackets.
