Thoughts-

Do you ever have days where you get up and get dressed and feel really cute and then like two hours later you look in the bathroom mirror at work and think "wow, I sure wilted fast today." sad. At least my feet look cute in my new flip flops.

Did you know that we don't have AC? It's true. Seriously, who builds an apartment building with no AC?! Luckily most nights it cools down enough to sleep, with the window open and two fans going! Being pregnant in the summer is no bueno with no AC.

I am almost 27 weeks pregnant. It is so crazy to think that that is when Gracie was born, I can't believe my baby is that big and looks like a real person! After Gracie was born my mom and I were at a park in St. George and she saw a girl who looked to be about 6 months pregnant. My mom said "I am going to tell her that I know what her baby looks like in there!" I stopped her...hee hee

Even thought it's hot, I would rather be hot then cold. I have been thinking I could wear skirts and flip flops almost till the end of my pregnancy. Then today I read back on my blog and saw that on SEPT. 1 last year I had to start wearing shoes and coats because it was like 45 degrees! Ahhh! What am I going to do, my feet do not fit in shoes now and I can only imagine it will be worse by September! Logan is a wonderful place, but I would be lying if I said I am not excited to hopefully move south in Dec.

Everything I eat gives me heartburn lately. Horrible! Any suggestions? Also, I get the WORST leg cramps during the night, not pleasant....

Discuss.

Today.....

...when I feel sad that I did not get to go here

with mom and Rachel this morning.

I will be happy that I got to go here....
....and finally see this cute little girl (outside of the hospital)

She is so beautiful I just could not stop looking at her! Her hair looks auburn in the pictures, but it is really really dark, she has the cutest little mouth and is so quiet and sweet:)

"Aunt Sara, your flash is too bright!"

She has a cute little pointy tongue.

We had such a great time in St. George this weekend. We stayed with Neils mom and dad and did lots of fun things, swimming, eating, selling stuff on Craigs list. On Saturday night we had a barbecue with both families, it's really fun to all get together:)

OK

Now. Go check out Andrea's blog, she worked really hard on it and so you'd better go and make a comment and tell her how cute it is so she feels welcome to the blogosphere...or no more pictures of Gracie!

Good News Bad News

Good News: We got new callings! We are teaching the 14-18 year old Sunday school class.
Bad News: Our church seriously has the worst A/C ever. It is so hot I am about to go less active. I made a "program fan" on Sunday and it helped a bit. I kept hoping my furious fanning would prompt the bishopric to see that maybe the AC could be turned up a bit but alas, no.
Good News: My awesome friend Susi heard my sad tale and mailed me an awesome Hawaiian fan to take to church with me! Thank you for keeping me active in the church Sus!
Bad News: I had the stomach flu for two days this week, yuck.
Good News: Law and Order: SVU and NCIS marathons on USA.
Bad News: Had to take sick leave that I should be saving for my maternity leave.
Good News: Tomorrow is Pioneer Day, paid holiday for me!
Bad News: Everyone in the office except for 3 of us took off early for the weekend.
Good News: Since everyone is gone no one is here to care that I am spending my morning blogging.
Bad News: Once I am done blogging I don't have much else to do except wait for the phone to ring.
Good News: At 5:00 we are headed to St. George!
Bad News: It is like 115 degrees in St. George.
Good News: Our parents have A/C (we do not). I would rather spend the weekend in 115 degree heat WITH A/C then in 97 degree heat WITHOUT A/C.
Bad News: However, since it's a holiday we will be spending most of our time outside in the heat at various celebrations.
Good News: Free food all day!

The end.

A day in Gracie's life.

Hello, my name is Gracie Brown. Aren't I cute in my new purple outfit?

Every day my mom gives me a bath in this Rubbermaid container, I love it!

Here is where I sleep in my mom and dads room so they can take care of me during the night. I am a good girl and sleep for a long time before I wake up and cry!

Every day my mom gives me this medicine through my feeding tube. The medicine helps me grow bigger and stronger and helps with my reflux. Now I weigh almost 7 lbs, woo hoo! Go me!

I like to be all wrapped up and sit in the bouncy seat.
Toodleoo!

How could I not?

So yesterday I did not heed the signs, and it was not a great day. So today I slept in and came to work at noon. Best decision I made all week (yes, I know it's Tuesday)! Also I came to work and got to look at these cute pictures, how could I not have the rest of a great day! I can't believe how big Gracie is getting!

Send more Andrea!

Signs....

That I probably should have just stayed home today...

1. I get in my car to leave the complex, the garbage truck pulls in to empty the dumpsters...I am blocked for a good 5 min.

2. I am driving up the street and get to the to of the hill, there is a huge cement truck blocking the whole street, I squeeze around it, hoping to not kill my car in the process.

3. I go to turn onto a main road, the traffic is horrible for the first time all summer, is the circus in town or something?

4. I am almost ready to turn right and a really slow old man starts to cross in front of me. It was like on that Harry Potter movie where they are on the Knight Bus and the old lady is crossing the street and they are counting down and you are afraid that she might not make it before they go again...don't worry I waited, for a looooong time.

5. By this point I am 5 min. late to work. I am driving up the main road to where I park, in the right lane. Suddenly I see a big flashing sign "Right Lane Closed Ahead" I put on my blinker, but will anyone let me over? Of COURSE not. Ridiculous.

6. So I finally get to the parking garage, pull in and there is a service truck blocking my way, they are trying to back into a handicapped parking spot up front...because that is where service trucks belong, right?

7. Three minutes later I finally pull through to get a spot. I get out of my car and start walking toward the building and ouch...my shoes are killing me. I found these cute shoes in my closet this morning that I have not worn in forever. Yeah, when your feet are all swollen from being pregnant these shoes are a bad bad idea. I got blisters just walking 5 minutes across campus!

I should have just stayed home, that is what all of the signs are telling me...

I heart the 4th of July

Also, I totally heart this baby! Is he not so cute? We had a lot of fun on Friday and Saturday with the Wildes. On Saturday morning we went to our old ward's breakfast, it was so fun to see people from the old neighborhood. We even saw the boys who grew up next door to us, they have not changed....

The many faces of Tiny Randy

I love crying baby faces! Don't worry he only cried for a second:)

Later in the day we headed over to the Burgener's for the annual 4th of July BBQ. It is the best party ever! They are so nice to let us over run their back yard every year, thanks! I am pretty sure this party is the reason that the 4th of July is my favorite holiday!

Beth made these amazing watermelon/jigglers things. What a fantastic idea!

Mmm tons of homemade ice cream. But I have to say, one thing disappointed me....there were actually leftovers! Come on Wilkey's step up to the plate! Next year I want to see all of that ice cream GONE!

Evie followed Neil around like a little shadow:)

23 weeks!

Waiting for the fireworks

Happy 4th of July baby girl!

Evie was a little nervous about the sparklers at first, but she caught on quick:)

Um, hello I look totally pregnant in this picture, wow.

Meanwhile, in St. George.....
Andrea and Gracie spent the 4th in the NICU. Of course Gracie had to have a new 4th of July outfit (one of my favorite things about this holiday).

Look how cute!!!!
Mom and Andrea put this cute polkadot blanket in her bed and the nurses gave her a little flag:) After she went to sleep Andrea watched the city fireworks with a big crowd in the parking lot of the hospital....we missed you guys!

Welcome Home Gracie!!

Origin of the name Grace:

Inspired by grace (eloquence or beauty of form, kindness, mercy, favor), which is derived from the Latin gratia (favor, thanks). The name was made popular by 17th-century Puritans, who bestowed it in reference to God's favor and love toward mankind.

April 19th 2009

2 lbs. 2 oz.

79 Days later-

July 6th 2009

6 lbs 8 oz

All ready to come home!

Posted by Picasa
Home at last! We are so excited! She has to be on oxygen, a heart moniter, and a feeding tube for a little while, but everyone is just happy to have her home!

One more reason that I love my husband

Yikes. Today I had my first true pregnancy craving. I was sitting at my desk and I happened upon a story about the best ice cream parlors in America. Suddenly I just had to have ice cream. I had never had a craving that strong before! I knew I had a coupon for free ice cream at the student center so I went on my break to get some....they were closed. I really almost started to cry. Even though I wanted to cry I was laughing at myself. Just the other night I told Neil that I did not understand why pregnant women make their husbands go to the store in the middle of the night to get things they are craving...now I do. So I sent an instant message to Neil telling him my sad sad story. He was so nice and said he felt really bad for me. He said "I have to run an errand I will be right back". He often has to go to the bank during his work day so I thought nothing of it. 10 minutes later he called me to see if I could come out behind my building and there he was in the car with my favorite ice cream:) I gobbled it down and now I can officially get back to work. Thanks Neil:) I love you!

And a good time was had by all....

The annual Wilkey reunion was of course wonderful as usual, thanks to the organizers for making it so great! Here are some fun pictures:)

I would like to point out that the shirt Liza is wearing is from the 1994 or 1995 Wilkey reunion, I am pretty sure Rachel used to wear it, cute:)

What a cute little face!

They kept fighting for a turn on Uncle Neils shoulders.

During the worst of the storm we took refuge in the trailer. Thanks Egberts for lending it to us every year, we really enjoy the "Taj Mahal"

Tiny Randy is getting bigger!

We had yummy food as always:) Liza said "Uncle Neil, I love you because you feed me!" He is pretty much her favorite.

The rain let up a bit and everyone found fun things to do

The woman who started it all she has over 150 grand and great grand kids! We love her!

22 weeks and 3 babies! Emily is due Oct 27th I am due Oct 30.

A fun obstacle course for the kids

Go Emily!

Okay, you must look at the expression on everyone's faces, especially Nemo! I think Nemo was down for the count after this swing.

Candy, Candy, Candy

On Friday in the pouring rain, teams built boats out of cardboard tape and something else...I am not sure, I was in the trailer trying to stay dry.

Guess what? They floated, it was so fun! Woo hoo!
