Rooming in

The Dr. said Gracie did well last night but they think that they will need to keep her about one more week. I don't know if I mentioned it before but about 3 weeks ago the Doctors came to the conclusion that Gracie was really 26 weeks at birth not 28 like they had thought. So that made a big difference in her development. They have no worries that she will turn out just fine, she just needs a little more time for her brain to develop. Even though they have the best technology to help these babies develop, it is a little slower than a baby would develop in the womb. Thanks to all who have been so willing to help Andrea and Ben with the older kids. It has helped so so much and I bet she is still open to offers of help if you live near her...it's good karma! :)

Last night Ben and Andrea and Gracie got to spend the night together. All of the other kids are in Fillmore with their grandparents, so it's nice that Ben could go too:) Andrea said Gracie did "Pretty Good" and they will spend the rest of the day weighing her diapers to see if she is getting enough liquid in her system. Good luck guys!

Before a preemie can go home they have to test out their car seat and see how they do breathing while sitting in it. Gracie had a little nap for a few hours in her fancy car seat and did great:) Look how chubby she is getting!

Good Job Gracie!

Tonight Andrea gets to "room in" with Gracie. That means that they will spend the night together in a hospital room to see how Gracie does eating and breathing all night. We are so excited! This is one major step toward Gracie getting to come home:) Also Gracie now weighs 6 lbs 4 oz. Woo hoo!

Hello, My Name is Gracie.

I weigh six lbs now! My Aunt Sara calls me chunky monkey! I don't even have to wear the oxygen tube in my nose anymore because I am breathing so good on my own. But I still have to get fed through this darn tube and can't go home until I can nurse really well on my own. Will everyone pray for me to be able to learn to eat so I can go home? That would make my family very happy:)

Love, Gracie Brown

Cruise Day 3

Can we discuss how much I loved the towell animals that our steward would leave for us each night?

A lovely swan...

A frog

I think this was a pig..or a dog..

What in the world! This one was not in my room. I told Corinne she should take it down really quickly or the little pioneer girl would come to life and get her...creeeepy.

So the whole time we were out of US waters my phone said 1955. This day was Oct 17, 1955. I totally had a back to the future flashback.

We attempted laying out, but it was freezing!

This ice carver was pretty amazing. He ended up with some kind of bird....an eagle I think.

We really enjoyed the hairy chest contest! Woo hoo!And no cruise would be complete without a midnight buffet! :)

Run Randy Run!

Think of it as a 188-mile party with 12 best friends. Teams of 12 will rock out to live bands, enjoy the wacky participant costumes, and make life-long friends with teammates and competitors. Teams will party along the backside of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains from Logan (85 miles north of Salt Lake City) to Park City, Utah (15 miles east of Salt Lake City).

I got that from this website, click for more info:) So Friday morning my dad along with 12 of his co-workers left at 7:20 from Merlin Olsen Park in Logan. It's a relay race, all 12 runners run three legs of the race. My dad was runner #5. All together they run about 188 miles, woo hoo!

I told him to pretend like he was running. This is the best I got:)
There were 650 teams registered for the race. They all came up with a name. Some were not so exciting like...Team Simplifile (my dads team. okay, next year we can work on that dad..) But some were hillarious! Some people were dressed up in costumes to fit with their team name and their vans which transported them along the race were decorated. One team was "Zena road warriors", or something, they were all dressed like this

These were my favorite team names.....

Veni, Vidi, Vomiti

Where The Hell's The Car? Park City!?

Family Reunion Gone Wrong

FLDS: Making non-Utahn’s wonder WTF?- since about 1830.

Westminster Flabby

(Ironically this team was from Georgia)

Team ShamWow!

St. George with the BMOC*

We went to St. George again (I am pretty sure we could make that drive with our eyes closed at this point). Neil had a 10 year reunion that he was partially in charge of. Of course we went to see Gracie Brown as much as possible. Here she is having a bath. Also she weighs 5 lbs 5 oz!! Woo hoo!

She has baths all swaddled in blankets to keep her warm and she loves it. Andrea does such a good job that the Dr.'s asked her to teach some nurses from Logan Regional hospital how to do a swaddle bath since they are planning to open a NICU.

She gets her head scrubbed with a tooth brush.

Everything was going great until we noticed that the water was greeen...with floaters.. yuck. So we had to get new water and do a quick rinse, she did not like being all naked! The red mark on her chest is a kind of birth mark.

All Done

Now she is ready to sleep the rest of the day:)So here we are on our way to the reunion. We were at Neils parents house and he found his class sweater in the basement, I totally made him wear it. He was the class activities officer, hence why he was in charge of the reunion. I was totally psyched to be going out with the big man on campus ;) The reunion was really great, the dinner was fabulous and a lot of people came and had a really fun time.

Then we saw Gracie some more. Grandpa loves his grandbabies:)

The nurses always dress her in the cutest little outfits:)

Here is a little video so you can see what she is up to.

A stroller and a story

So we got this cute stroller, I know it's a bit early, but Target was the only place to get them and I didn't want it to go out of stock or something. Plus we have heard rumors that Graco infant seats are hard to fit in the back of a Honda Civic...any opinions? People say they fit, but just barely and the passenger seat has to be moved all the way up. Anyway if that's really the case then...we'll see, we don't want to sell Marsha, but I don't want to have to ride in the backseat! I loved this one because it is very gender neutral, so hopefully we can use it for the first few. I didn't love any of the girly looking ones anyway. We got free shipping plus $20 off because of our AAA car insurance, woohoo! It should be here Monday.

I told Neil that after it came I was going to push it around the neighborhood with a rock in it, in honor of Gigi (Grandma Joyce). Here is the story, when Gigi lived with my parents in St. George, they had an old stroller, she liked to push it around the neighborhood with a big red rock in it (it helped her balance while she walked) she said frequently people would stop her and want to see the "baby" haha, they got quite the surprise! So funny:)

Cruise Day 2

On day two we went to Catalina Island, I had never been there, it was GREAT!

We took a little boat over to the island from the ship

I won a VIP free tour of something....special......
So we went on a semi submersible submarine ride and saw/fed fish

Catalina was so pretty, it kind of reminded me of New Zealand

The captain of our golf cart

Okay, maybe not. We took a little trail around the island and saw...

Beautiful views! Our Ship. And lots of other stuff, it was great!

That night was what I like to call "fancy night" of course the food was the most important thing. This was desert, we had lobster and steak and I had two appetizers...I love cruise ships!

Here is me after dinner with my little belly poking out, yes I am in the bathroom, don't judge me.

Look how fancy we are

What a bunch of hotties!

Corinne, Chad, Ethan, Sherry, Rocky, Neil, ME! I am lucky to have such a wonderful in-law'd family, we had a lot of fun together:)

Bling Bling

So after dinner we went to a show. While we were in the show.....this was happening. The pool, one deck above the dining room burst a pipe and flooded the dining room and a few floors below it. They had to shut down the dining room and the pool the rest of the cruise. When we got off the boat at Long Beach they had big rolls of carpet ready to bring on the boat. It was pretty bad, but funny at the same time. Because we could not go to Ensanda they already had given us a $50 credit, after this night, they gave us another $50 credit. We all bought perfume at the gift shop:) Woo hoo (in the words of Felipe our cruise director) Yesterday Corinne told me about these videos on You Tube, sweet! It was kind of interesting to see since we were not actually there when it happened, good thing we had the early dinner!
